First trial course delivered in CGTC's Skills and Training Laboratories

Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult’s Skills and Training Laboratories held their first trial course earlier this month, a dry run on “Biomanufacturing and Advanced Therapies for Non-biologists”. Seven Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult staff attended the four-hour course from the Stevenage Manufacturing Innovation Centre’s QA/GMP training teams. The course serves as a foundational introductory course for all ATMP new starters.

Feedback on the course was extremely positive with all delegates stating they would recommend the course to friends and colleagues. Considerations for a rerun would include extending the course from four hours to an entire day with a lunch break to allow for more questions and a slower pace.

“The course was excellently delivered, the trainers explained everything at a good level and pace for myself (a science degree graduate). I found the section on the challenges surrounding biomanufacturing particularly useful. I would recommend this course to new employees starting with our collaborator companies who are more directly involved in biomanufacturing.”
